Doris M. Jones, 82, of New Castle, passed away on December 14, 2011 at her home. She was born in New Castle on May 6, 1929 to William and Flora Heaven Lanigan. Doris married Roger Jones on March 5, 1949. He preceded her in death.She was an operator with Bell Telephone and a homemaker. She was a Protestant.Doris is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and George Gilson of New Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Allison Jones of New Castle; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Fred Lanigan.There are no calling hours.There will be a private service for the family at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. Interment will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
