Doris J. Morgan, 92, formerly of Shenango Township, New Castle, passed away the morning of August 23, 2020 at her residence in Grove City. Born February 11, 1928 in Lewistown, PA, she was a daughter of John Adam and Sara Kathryn (Shoemaker) Elmer. She was preceded in death on April 3, 2015 by her husband of 68 years, Richard T. Morgan, whom she married December 25, 1946. A 1946 graduate of Lewistown High School, Doris spent most of her life as a homemaker. She loved to swim and enjoyed reading and memorizing scripture. A member of First Baptist Church, she attended the Sparklers Group and participated in visitation with the elderly. Doris taught evangelism classes in Sunday school for all ages. She is survived by one son, Bradley T. Morgan, and his wife Dawn, of Grove City; 2 grandchildren, Josh Morgan, and his wife Karlin, Amanda Morgan; 3 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Maddox and Monroe Morgan and was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings. There will be a one hour visitation Tuesday, August 25, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle with the Rev. John Yergan officiating. Visitors are asked to adhere to CDC guidelines regarding wearing face masks and practicing social distancing. Entombment will be in the Graceland Cemetery Mausoleum.
