Dorothy I. Bort, 91, of 520 E. Fairmont Avenue, New Castle, formerly of McKean, PA, passed away the afternoon of June 2, 2012 at her residence.Born February 3, 1921 in New Castle, she was a daughter of H. Clyde Brest, Sr. and Ruth Remley Brest. She was preceded in death by her husband Laurin C. "Bud" Bort, Jr.She was a graduate of New Castle High School and was employed as a title clerk with Gary Miller Dodge Chrysler in Erie until her retirement.Dorothy was an active member of Wimodausis.She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Bruce Dunbar of Ball Ground, GA; a brother, H. Clyde Brest, Jr. and wife Ruth of California; a sister-in-law, Mary Brest of New Castle; two grandchildren, Gale (Tom) Stein and Grace Dunbar; three great-grandchildren, Corey (Mary Beth) Byrd, and Joshua and Elizabeth Teague; two nieces, Renee Brest and Barbara (Guy) Thiemann; and two nephews, Robbie Brest and William (Doris) Brest.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Brest.A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514.
