Dorothy J. Shillingburg, age 81 of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 10, 2021 at her residence. Born August 16, 1939, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herman J. and Dorothy M. (Romig) Wigle. After receiving her degree to become a registered nurse, Dorothy was employed as a nurse for various health systems in the community. What gave Dorothy the most joy in life was taking care of and spending time with her beloved family. She was a member of New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Dorothy is survived by her children, Deborah J. (Edward) Ammeen of Pulaski, PA, John W. (Sheila) Karlin of Wampum, PA, Donna J. (Leonard) Crosson of Hatfield, PA, J. Diane Karlin of Boardman, OH, Andrew (Diane) Shillingburg of Enon Valley, PA, Nichol (Matthew) Fenati of Neshannock Twp. PA; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a beloved sister, Janet Duch. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland, Dr., Pulaski, PA 16143. A service will follow immediately after visitation at 3:00 with Rev. John McCready officiating. CDC guidelines will be in place in regard to wearing masks and social distancing. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church and designated for the Epic Group or the Youth Group. Burial will be at Kings Chapel Cemetery.
