Dorothy L. Spory, 71, of New Castle passed away the morning of October 12, 2017 at Edison Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born August 12, 1946 in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of Leo P. and Dorothy Uhl Leach. She married David A. Spory on May 27, 1972 whom survives at home. She graduated from Bishop McCort High School in Johnstown, PA and attended The Art Institute in Pittsburgh. She was employed with Alcon Specialties in Reading, PA for 12 years until her retirement in 2012. Dorothy enjoyed swimming, playing cards, and knitting. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her husband; one son, Bryan D. (Nicole) Spory, of Slippery Rock; two brothers, Michael Leach of Medina, Ohio and Paul Leach of Phoenixville, PA; and one sister, Barbara Biller of North Olmsted, Ohio. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Ann Spory; one sister, Bridget Strunk; and one brother, Raymond Leach. In keeping with Dorothys wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services.
