Obituary

Dorothy I. Wilder, 89, of Neshannock Township, passed away the night of January 21, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born August 17, 1927 in Coraopolis, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry L. and Florence Gribble McFeaters. Dorothy was a 1946 graduate of New Castle High School. She was a sales associate for K-Mart and Meeks Jewelry and previously an operator for Bell Telephone. A past Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls, Dorothy enjoyed reading and quilting. She loved her animals, and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family extends a special thank you to Challenges and Avalon Nursing Center for their kindness and dedication to the loving care of their mother. She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Ron) Niemiec of Canfield, Ohio and Patricia (John) Adams of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Heather Wallace (Dan Herbert), Michael Wallace, Kylene (Mike) Gordon, Ashley Adams, Bryan (Allison) Adams, Shannon Wilder, and Brittany (R.J.) Romano; and three great-grandchildren, Sophie Herbert, Johanna Gordon, and Reese Adams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James R. Wilder and Thomas S. Wilder. A Private service was held for the family at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of New Castle officiated by the Rev. Andrew Jillson. Burial was in Castle View Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Challenges, 2706 Mercer Road, New Castle, PA 16105 or to the American Cancer Society, 525 N.
