Douglas R. McHattie, 42, of New Castle passed away the morning of January 23, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in New Castle on March 17, 1974, he was a son of Ernest and Martha Bishop McHattie. On October 25, 2003 he married the former Victoria Grimm, who survives him at home. After graduating from Shenango High School, he served in the US Army. He was an office manager at Favorite Office Automation. He enjoyed working with computers and anything technical. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by one daughter, Moire I. McHattie of Pittsburgh. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clifford and Edith Bishop; paternal grandparents, Norma and Leona McHattie; and a sister, Lori McHattie. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. A celebration of Douglas' life will be held on Sunday, January 29 from 3:00-7:00 at 2421 Ruth Street, New Castle.
