Earl L. "Andy" Jordan, Sr., 83, of 237 Blews Way, New Castle, passed away the morning of July 28, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.Born Sept. 5, 1927, in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of Charles and Effie McCoy Jordan.He married Lois Wyant Jordan on Dec. 9, 1945. She survives.Earl served in the U. S. Army as a PFC during WWII in Panama. He retired Oct. 15, 1987 from Younstown Sheet and Tube where he had been an electrician for 36 years.Earl enjoyed hunting & fishing and was a member of the Armstrong Historical Society.A member of First Alliance Church, he previously taught Sunday school and served as an elder and a deacon.In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Blews of New Castle; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Wesena Jordan of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Robert Jordan of Florida and Kenneth Jordan of Kittanning; five grandchildren, Bonnie, Daniel, Nathan, Andrew and Larissa; and five great granchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; and three sisters.Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, 2011, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road and Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Alliance Church, 111 Mission Meade Dr., New Castle.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at the church. The Rev. Philip Harrison and the Rev. Brandon Nutter will officate.
