Earl L. Wilson, age 87, of Slippery Rock Township in New Castle, passed away the morning of June 24, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born December 6, 1930 in New Castle, he was the son of Vance and Nannie (Gibson) Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn (Gibson) Wilson, whom he married May 24, 1951.
A graduate of Princeton High School, Earl served as a cook in the U.S.Army. He was employed for several years as a truck driver with Russell Standard Corporation until his retirement.
Earl was a member of the Liberty Grange and enjoyed attending tractor pulls. He enjoyed most the time spent with his family.
He was an active member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Wayne) Pizor of Portersville, PA; two grandchildren, Timothy (Brandy) Pizor of Slippery Rock and Diana (John) Caffro of New Castle; and one great-granddaughter, Shelby Caffro.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Wilson; one sister, Mary Jane Wilson; and two brothers, Ralph and Clarence Wilson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 26, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 27, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Judith Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
