Edmund J. Morris, Sr., 85, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 28, 2021, at his home in Union Township. Born August 10, 1936, in New Castle, he was the son of John and Mirriem (Clark) Morris. He is survived by the love of his life of 65 years, Claudette (Crabill) Morris, whom he married February 9, 1956. Ed was a conductor for Conrail until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and playing softball in his earlier years. He attended First Church of God. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Robert) Smiley of Volant; three sons, Edmund J. Morris, Jr. and Wesley J. (Tracy) Morris both of New Castle and Mark A. Morris of Darlington; one sister, Virginia Shelok of New York; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Louise Smith. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 3, at 1:00 pm at the First Church of God, 12 W. Euclid Avenue, New Castle, with Rev. William Hunley officiating.
