Edward Daytner, age 97, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 27, 2024, at Shenango-on-the Green in New Wilmington.

Born May 25, 1927, in New Castle, he was the son of Paul and Mary (Jranko) Daytner.

Mr. Daytner is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Sallie (Rowan) Daytner, whom he married September 12, 1953.

Edward served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was employed with Youngstown Sheet and Tube until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six nieces, Renee Daytner, Lori Daytner, Kathleen Daytner, Sandi Daytner, Karen (Dale) Long and Cheryl (Jason) Steele; and three nephews, Allen (Theresa) Daytner, Brian Daytner and Gary (Katrina) Daytner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers, Paul, Clarence "Mack", Harry, Sidney, Eugene, and Vincent Daytner; three sisters, Nadine and Lavean Daytner and Vera Smith; and one nephew, Eric Daytner.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. A burial will take place in Castle View Cemetery.
