Edward Harrison, Jr., age 93, formerly of Florine Lane, passed away the morning of June 22, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle.
Born March 17, 1923 in Leesburg, PA, he was a son of Edward S. and Margaret Magee Harrison.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 69 years, Eileen Eakin Harrison, whom he married October 18, 1946.
Ed attended New Castle High School and served his country from 1941-1945 in the U.S. Army during WWII as a staff sergeant.
He was employed as a warehouse manager for Flowline Division for 30 years until his retirement and continued to work as a driver for Preston Auto until he retired at the age of 90.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Moss of Portersville and Jacque Speed of Pittsburgh; three sons, James Harrison of Kent, Ohio, Jeffrey Harrison of McMurray, Pa, and Jay Harrison of New Castle; one brother, Don Harrison, and one sister, Beryle Hogue, both of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard, Herbert and Bob Harrison; one sister, Alberta Shealer; and one daughter-in-law, Patricia Harrison.
In keeping with Edward's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hoover Heights CMA Church, 1947 Morris Street, New Castle, PA 16102.
Burial will be in Castle View Cemetery.
