Edward Earl LaMont, age 83 of New Castle, passed away the evening of Feb. 27, 2022, at his residence. Born Sept. 28, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Marie Dorothy (Klock) Lamont. Edward was a 1958 graduate of New Castle High School. He earned his associate degree at Youngstown State University. Edward was an engineer employed by CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Eagles Club, where he served as trustee, the Moose Club, German Club, and the Cee Jee's. Edward loved collecting vintage cars. Survivors include two sons, Mike LaMont of New Castle, PA, and Mark (Cheryl) LaMont of Mt. Jackson, PA; one brother, Richard W. Grove of New Castle, PA; former wife, Janice DeVore Pritchard; 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and 1 great-nephew; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, Edward was preceded in death by his stepfather, William B. Grove, his mother, Marie (Klock) Grove and one sister, Eleanor L. Ferrante. Visitation will be on Thurs.
