Edward T. Shaw, 88, of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 9, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born June 7, 1927 in Stoneboro, PA, he was a son of David and Florence Witherell Shaw.
He was recently preceded in death on February 2, 2016 by his wife of 58 years, Darlene A. Sarbo Shaw, whom he married on May 24, 1957.
Mr. Shaw served his country in both WWII and the Korean Conflict in the Army Air Corp.
He was the owner of a heavy equipment sales and service company, Ed Shaw Services, for 30 years. He also repaired trucks for GM where he was employed for 32 years.
When Ed wasn't working, he enjoyed traveling, and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church.
Edward is survived by three children, Thomas and his wife Tomasina Shaw of New York, Matthew E. and his wife Rena Shaw of South Carolina, and Victoria Shaw of Ohio; two sisters, Betty Kirkpatrick and Doris Shaw, both of Mercer, PA; one grandson, Ian Shaw, one granddaughter, Maryalice Shaw Buffington; and three great-grandsons, Taylor, Tyler, and Tucker Buffington.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Shaw.
A private memorial service will be held with the family.
