Edward H. Thompson, Jr., age 83, of Linesville, PA, passed away the early morning of Dec. 13, 2021, at his residence.
Born June 13, 1938, in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late Edward H. and Mary Margaret (Lawson) Thompson, Sr.
On April 25, 1964, he married his beloved wife of 46 years, Eleanor Louise (Regester) Thompson. She preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 2010.
Edward was a graduate of McKeesport High School. For several years he was employed by the Dept. of General Services, State of Pennsylvania, as a building inspector until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a lifelong member of Dravosburg #1 VFD. Edward was a member of Shadeland Evangelical Church in Springboro, PA.
Edward is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline (Terry) Boyles of New Castle, PA; three sons, Richard Lang, and Martin Lang, both of Linesville, PA, and Andrew (Olivia) Thompson of Bryn Mawr, PA; two sisters, Sara Bartels of FL, and June Rossi, of GA; five grandchildren, David L. (Sarah) Boyles, Randy L. (Joey) Boyles, Rachel (Kyle) Golden, Isabella Thompson and Matthew Thompson; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents and wife, Edward was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine David, Dorothy Stockett, and Patsy Hopey.
A memorial service will take place on Sat. Jan. 8th, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at First Assembly of God, 2021 Pulaski Road, New Castle, PA, with Pastor Steve DeSantis officiating.
