Edwin Ray Marshall, age 81 of New Castle, passed away Sat. Oct. 30th, 2021, following a two-month illness. Born Nov. 13, 1939, he was the son of Raymond and Beulah Marshall. Mr. Marshall was a graduate of Laurel High School. After graduation he entered the Marine Corps and served for 4 years. Upon discharge he worked at American Cyanamid, and then went on to work at the New Castle YDC until his retirement. Edwin helped organize the Hickory Twp., police department and served as chief for many years. He was a lifelong member of Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' Marshall; one daughter Wendy (James) Shaffstall of Cincinnati, OH; and one grandson, Edwin Joseph Shaffstall. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, one son Greg, one sister Peg, four foster siblings, sister-in-law, Barbara Zeigler and four nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sat. Nov. 13h at 11:00 AM, at Bell Memorial Presbyterian Church, 610 Line Ave. Ellwood City, Pa., 16117. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Bell Memorial Church, in Edwin's memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
