Eileen Daugherty, 91, of W. Winter Avenue, passed away the night of November 3, 2014 at Edison Manor. Born April 26, 1923 in Edinburg, Pa., she was a daughter of Clarence and Jenny Gibson McFate. She was preceded in death on September 23, 1972 by her husband Kenneth G. Daugherty. Eileen was a graduate of Slippery Rock College and the manager of central supply at Jameson Memorial Hospital from 1976-1984. She was the head of the Jameson Aid Society, a member of the Mt. Jackson's Women's Club and member of Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Orga of New Castle, and Lois Shenk of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; one son, Kenneth Daugherty of New Castle; a sister, Eleanor Donaldson of Waldorf, MD; 6 grandchildren, Zachary Shenk, Tyler Shenk, Ryan Shenk, Emily Daugherty, Hanna Daugherty, and Kelin Daugherty; and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and John McFate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Church, Mt. Air Road, New Castle. Steve Plyler will be officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Jackson Presbyterian Cemetery.
