Elaine J. Burchett, age 85, formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA and New Castle, PA, most recently of Fredonia, PA, passed away the afternoon of July 8, 2026, at Greystone Country Estates.

Born May 25, 1941, in Mechanicsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Grace (Fishel) Runk.

A graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, Elaine dedicated many years of her career to medical billing, working at several physicians' offices throughout the area. She found great joy in serving her community through volunteer work at the New Castle Public Library and at Jameson Hospital, where she warmly welcomed and assisted families in the 'family room'. Elaine was a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church, where she especially enjoyed participating in the "Operation Christmas Child" program.

Survivors include one daughter, Melanie (Jim) Fedigan of Ontario, Canada, one son, Russell "Russ" (Kandi) Burchett of New Castle, PA; one sister, Sherry Runk of New York; three grandchildren, Noah Burchett, Ethan Burchett, and Jenna Fedigan.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Russell Runk.

A memorial service will be held on Sat. July 25th at 1:00 PM, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, with Pastor Warren Sullivan, of New Life Baptist Church, officiating.
