Elaine E. Cwiakala, 69, of N. Cascade Street, New Castle, passed away the morning of March 9, 2015 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born October 23, 1945 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Clarence and Mabel Jacobs Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester T. Cwiakala. Elaine attended beauty school and was a beautician. In addition, she was employed with Haven Nursing Home as a nurses aide and was also a notary public. Her family was of utmost importance to her, spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was of Methodist faith. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph L. (Rhonda) Rodgers, and Scott (Michelle Wetzel) Rodgers, all of New Castle, and Wilbur C. (Jani) Rodgers of Lexington, NC; three step-daughters, Lori McConnell, Lisa Cwiakala Frazier, and Cristie Libert all of New Castle; one brother, Butch (Barb) Nelson of New Castle; and eight grandchildren, Cody and Jo Lynn Rodgers, Steven and Cheyane Rodgers, Ashlin and Allison Nulph, Matt Cwiakala, and Megan McConnell. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Rodgers, and three brothers, Chuck, Jim and Benny Nelson. Private family services will take place at the R.
