Eldama Harriett Kemper, 80, of Jameson Care Center, died the morning of December 17, 2010 at her residence.Born August 7, 1930 in Canonsburg, PA, she was a daughter of Rev. Ralph T. and Evelyn H. Poole Kemper.She received her nurse's training in South Side Hospital in Pittsburgh and her BA from Asbury University in Wilmore, KY. She then completed her Master's Degree with Asbury Theological Seminary.She trained nurses in Canonsburg General Hospital and was a missionary nurse in Kenya, Africa. Eldama was a staff member of the New Castle City Rescue Mission for twenty years where she was both a social worker and used her nursing skills to help anyone who needed medical assistance. For many years, she accompanied Rev. Dick Marshall by playing the organ and piano every morning on the Mission Echoes radio broadcast. She was the Director of Family Care and was the first director of the Covenant House.She was a member of Faith Country Chapel where she was the organist and taught Sunday school.She is survived by one sister, Carol J. Vogel of Canonsburg, PA.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Lauralee Rockwell and Loislee Brandyberry; and one brother, Leon W. Kemper.Visitation will be held Monday, December 20, 2010, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held Monday, December 20, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Her brother-in-law, Rev.
