Eleanor L. Bonner, age 89, of Keller, Texas, formerly of New Castle, passed away November 30, 2016 at Heritage House of Keller. Born September 7, 1927 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Samuel S. and Ruth M. Gibson Irwin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerimiah A. Bonner. Eleanor was employed as an assistant manager with JC Penney. She was a member of Eastern Star, enjoyed reading and making items of plastic canvas to sell. She cherished most the time spent with her family. Eleanor was a member of Babylon Methodist Church in Babylon, New York where she was a 44 year resident of West Islip, NY. Surviving are her three daughters, Gail (Bill) Darcy of Keller, TX, Janet (Brent) Carrigan of Jacksonville, NC, and Beth (Scott) Braue of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Marlene McFarland of New Castle; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Grahm; one sister, Marjorie Herr; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Monday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Philip Harrison officiating.
