Eleanor L. Martin Boswak, age 70, of New Castle, passed away suddenly Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the emergency room of Jameson Hospital following a brief illness. Born February 11, 1945 in New Castle, PA she was the daughter of Lester and Jennie Reinhart Martin. At a very young age, Eleanor married the Rev. Michael Boswak on September 5, 1958 who preceded her in death on March 21, 2011. She proudly told every one of her happy 52 years married to the Rev. Boswak and her role as a pastor's wife. Throughout their marriage, Mike and Eleanor lived in numerous locations including Guam, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Texas, Wyoming, and Illinois as well as New Castle. Eleanor was very much a people person and thoroughly loved life, particularly her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and visiting her family. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta A. (Raymond) Gould of Houston, TX; two sons, Michael D. (Leslie) Boswak of Hooksett, NH. and Matthew D. Boswak with whom she shared her home; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Boswak of Rosenburg, TX; one brother, Charles Martin of new Castle; one brother-in-law, Roy (Deb) Zimmerman of Butler; three sisters-in-law, Dr. Patty Campbell of Jacksonville, FL, Bonnie Kaulens of Parrish, FL, and Diane Hilderbrand of Butler, Pa; 6 grandchildren, Nathaniel (Deann) Gould, Eliza Gould, Jennifer (Kevin) Riel, Justine (Nicholas) Hayward, Spencer Boswak and Austin Boswak; and 3 great-grandchildren, Abigail Riel, Elisabeth Riel and Landon Hayward. In addition, she enjoyed a very close relationship with Edna Johnson whom she called "Mom" and Edna's daughters, Marian (David) Kennedy and Janice (Paul) Harper both whom she called "sisters", and longtime friend, Pat Hansel. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Bo Boswak; and one sister, Doris Taylor. Eleanor's kind and accepting heart will be missed by all her family and friends, especially her life-long friend, Carolyn Rottman. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. Arrangements are by the R.
