Eleanor "Tootie" Coates, 76, of Union Township, passed away the morning of March 23, 2014 at Jameson Hospital.Born September 4, 1937 in New Castle, she was the daughter of J. Raymond and Verna G. McElroy Jones, and step-daughter of Ethel M. Watters Jones.Eleanor attended Eastbrook School and was the assistant manager of Eckerd Drug Store.Among her many interests were bowling, crocheting, ceramics and watching QVC. Most important to her was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.Eleanor was a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church on Fairground Road.She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Gary) Kerr and Susan (P.J.) Natale all of New Castle; three brothers, Paul Jones and Dick Jones of New Castle, and Dave Wagner of Sharon; two sisters, Winifred McCombs and Shirley Robison both of New Castle; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Jamie, Michael and Makenna; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Christian and Casey.In addition to her parents and step-mother, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles "Buck" Jones; and two sisters, Leanne Wagner and Doris Jean Jones.At Eleanor's request, there will be no calling hours, and a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Bill Whisel officiating.Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope FWC, 3 Lower Idlewild Drive, New Castle, PA 16101.Arrangements are by the R.
