Obituary

Eleanor Mae Spayde, 92, of New Wilmington, formerly of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of November 20, 2014 at UPMC Horizon in Farrell. Born April 14, 1922 in North Beaver Township, she was the daughter of Fred H. Green and Eva Miller Green Krouse. Eleanor married Henry C. Spayde on July 1, 1942 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1996. She was a custodian at Strouss Departement Store and had previously worked at Shenango Pottery in the dipping room. Eleanor was a member of First Assembly of God, and belonged to Keenagers, and the Women's Ministry. She enjoyed watching Christian videos, reading, puzzle books and word search. A volunteer at the City Rescue Mission, Eleanor was also a prayer warrior with a very long prayer list, and she read her Bible everyday. Survivors included three daughters, Barbara and Edward Kelley of New Castle, Eva and Matthew Barlow of Nicaragua, Kathie and Thomas Eich of New Wilmington; a son, Rev. Ronald and Dolly Spayde of Walworth, NY; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann McIltrot; three sisters, Maxine Bretz, Frances V. Wilson, and Marie Hazen; and two brothers, Kenneth Barton and Raymond Krouse. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 5-8 pm at First Assembly of God, Pulaski Rd. A funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 pm at the church. Pastor Chad Stoecker and Pastor Ken Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church earmarked to be used in support of the Christian School for the Deaf at 2021 Pulaski Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
