Elizabeth F. "Betty" Bash, age 91, of New Castle, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Aug. 20, 2022, at Rhodes Estates in New Castle. Born on Dec. 6, 1930, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Moyer and Elizabeth "Anna" (Reynolds) Moyer. In September of 1966, Betty married her beloved husband, Leonard Bash, who proceeded her in death July of 1980. A graduate of Shenango High School, Betty loved bowling and dancing. She was also a part of multiple clubs, including the Eagles Club and the Homemakers Club at Center Presbyterian Church, where she was also a member. Betty deeply enjoyed her time at Rhode's Estates. She especially loved the opportunity to take part in the activities they provided. Betty is survived by three daughters; Gale Carr of Four Oaks, NC, Barbara (Jeffery) Quinto of Wake Forest, NC, and Daisie (Mark) Pontius, of New Castle, PA: step- children, Kenny (Bonnie) Bash, of Ogden, UT, DeEtta Janis, of New Castle and Claudia Copple, of Slippery Rock, PA; one brother, Glen Moyer, of New Castle. As well as fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and David Moyer; sister- in- law, Cora Moyer; sons- in- law, Steve Carr and Tom Janis, and grandson, Quintin Copple. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 23rd from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A service will be held the following day, Wednesday, Aug 24th at 11:00 AM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd, New Castle, with Rev. Randy Stringer officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
