Elizabeth V. "Betty" McQuiston, 87, formerly of McQuiston Drive, passed away the morning of September 28, 2011 at Avalon Nursing Center.Born February 26, 1924 in New Castle, PA, she was a daughter of W. Albert and Bertha May Snyder.She married Robert C. McQuiston on February 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1988.Betty was a homemaker and was a member of First United Methodist Church.She is survived by one son and daugher-in-law, Merritt and Rose McQuiston of New Castle; one daughter, Roberta "Bobbie" O'dell of Lenoir City, TN; and two grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Florence Travers.Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The Rev. Edward Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
