Elizabeth 'Betty' Jean Stoner, age 74, of Neshannock Twp., passed away the late afternoon of Feb. 26, 2023, at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born March 17, 1948, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late George and Victoria (Skaneski) Finamore.

On Nov. 13, 1971, she married her beloved husband of 51 years, Robert 'Bob' James Stoner. He survives at home.

Betty was a 1966 graduate of Union High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Slippery Rock University. For several years she was employed by St. Francis hospital, as a psych nurse. She then worked in pharmaceutical sales support and most recently she worked for Human Services, in children's services.

Betty enjoyed dancing, shopping, and playing card games, especially Bunco. She was a member of the Red Hats Society, and the Rapid Tappets Car Club. She loved traveling to Florida, but most of all what gave Betty the most joy in life, was spending time with her grandchildren. Betty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by two sons, Mike (Kacy Walko) Stoner of Westerville, OH, Mark (Christina) Stoner, of New Wilmington, PA; one brother Jerry (Dulcie) Finamore of Bethlehem, PA; and four grandchildren, Coen, Jacob, Jackson, and Austin.

Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lou Hill.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. March 2nd from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place on Fri. March 3rd at the funeral home, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Darryl Lockie, officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
