Elizabeth J. "Betty" Wimer, 80, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of April 18, 2010 in the Haven Convalescent Home.Born October 1, 1929 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Robert J. and Pansy Black Hanna. She married Arthur W. Wimer who preceded her in death September 5, 1994.Betty was a graduate of New Castle High School.She was employed with Fashion Bug and was a technician with Microbac Lab.Betty enjoyed line dancing and was a member of Zion Baptist Church.Survivors include two sons, David A. Wimer of Hubbard, Ohio and Ronald W. Wimer of New Castle; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Gerald K. Hanna, Earl J. Hanna, H. Russell Nelson and Kenneth M. Nelson; one sister, Anna K. Blews.Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.Burial will be in Castle View Mausoleum.
