Ella Lee Jones, age 87 of West Pittsburg, PA, passed away the early morning of Nov. 9, 2021, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born May 8, 1934, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Blanche E. (Moore) Donnelly. In 1953, she married her beloved husband of 66 years, William C. Jones, who preceded her in death on March 24, 2019. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of New Castle High School. For several years, she was the secretary the City Rescue Mission and then went on to be the secretary for People in Need. For 60 years, she was a devoted member of Evangel Community Church where she was involved in weekly bible studies and prayer group. Survivors include two sons, William A. (Patty) Jones of New Castle, PA, and Ricky J. (Lisa) Jones of West Pittsburg, PA; three grandchildren, Alyssa (Nick Marmo), Kaelyn, and Corey; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ella was preceded in death by one brother, Howard S. Moore and one sister, Norma J. Wargo. Visitation will be held on Sun. Nov. 14th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place immediately following visitation at 4:00 PM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Harry Edenhofer of Evangel Community Church officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
