Elma Rickel Schweikert Robinson, 100, formerly of Knox Ave. New Castle, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Rhodes Estates. Born June 26, 1912 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Joseph O. and Adah Straine Rickel. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Paul L. Schweikert, Henry L. Bodendorfer and E. Gordon Robinson. Elma worked as a X-ray technician and medical secretary for West Chester Orthopedic Association in West Chester Pa. Elma was an avid reader, she also enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking and doll collecting. She was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish, Wimodausis, A.A.R.P. and LAFF Club. Survivors include five sons, Robert P. (Sue) of Greensburg PA, Thomas C. (Patricia) of New Castle, Lawrence J. of Ellwood City, PA. William J. (Caroline) of Salisbury, MD, and Terry F. (Gladys) Schweikert of Yardley PA; one brother, Jack Rickel of Front Royal, VA; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and three husbands, she was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Barbara Joan Tomon; a step-son, James Robinson; a sister, Connie Proch; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia M. Schweikert. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory 2429 Wilmington Rd. New Castle. A blessing service will be held on Wednesday. May 1, 2013, at noon at the funeral home with the Rev. Father Frank Almade officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
