Elsie R. Pears, 78, of Old Pulaski Road, passed away the morning of November 28, 2010 in Jameson Hospital.Born April 22, 1932, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Martin and Susanna Hoprich Wellman Sr. She married Raymond Paglialong Sr. on October 29, 1950. Raymond preceded her in death on March 13, 2003. Elsie married Lee E. Pears on January 3, 2009. Lee survives in New Castle. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren. Elsie was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Janice Wesley of Chicago; two sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Marilyn Paglialong Jr. and Rodney and Kristin Paglialong, all of Chicago; a brother, Richard Wellman, of Chicago; a sister, Irene Fava, of New Castle; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and first husband, Elsie was preceded in death by a son, Robert Paglialong; three brothers, Martin Wellman Jr., David Wellman, and Edward Wellman; two sisters, Clara Salsbury and Minnie Wolczak; and a great-grandchild, Telia Paglialong.Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at the First Assembly of God Church, 2021 Pulaski Road.A service will immediately follow at 8 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Chad Stoecker will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago.Memorial contributions may be made to First Assembly of God Church, 2021 Pulaski Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
