Elsie Mae Wilson, age 93, of New Castle, passed away the evening of July 18, 2022, at her daughter's residence.
Born April 27, 1929, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William and Hazel Jolley.
On May 21, 1955, she married her husband, Glenn F. Wilson. He preceded her in death.
Elsie was a graduate of New Castle High School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a Girl Scout Leader for several years and enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, and crafts. Elsie was an avid camper and belonged to a camping club for many years. She was a member of the former College Hill United Methodist Church in Beaver Falls.
The family would like to thank Elsie's caregiver, Char, for all of her love and care during this difficult time.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura Campbell of New Castle, and LuAnn Fortune of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, Leah Poerio, Jeffrey K. Campbell II, Tommy Fortune and Robbie Fortune; seven great grandchildren, Zachary and Jaiden Poerio, Jeffrey 'Trip' Campbell, Tallulah, Gabriella, Joseph Glenn, and Lucy Mae Fortune.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elsie was preceded in death by brothers, James, Walter and Harry Jolley, sisters, Mary Louise McCann and Ruth Jean Myers, infant brother, Sam Jolley and son-in-law, Jeffrey K. Campbell, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Sun. July 24th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place at 4:00 PM, at the funeral home, with Rev. Darryl Lockie officiating.
Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery.
