Ernest W. Stickle, 75, of Volant, PA, passed away the morning of January 18, 2014 at Jameson Hospital. Born August 6, 1938 in New Castle, he was a son of Thomas and Mary Richie Stickle. He was preceded in death on October 17, 2012 by his wife of 54 years, Donna L. Goyit Stickle, whom he married September 13, 1958. Prior to his retirement from Seal Master as a truck driver, he was an auctioneer and drove truck for Guttman's Petroleum Company. After his retirement he hauled livestock and machinery for the Amish community. Ernest was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania and enjoyed hunting. He was a loyal patron of Isaly's Restaurant in New Wilmington where he would spend each morning. Ernest was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Sheree L. Stickle of Volant, and Margaret E. Moyer of New Middletown, OH; two sons, Gerald W. (Donna) Stickle and Thomas A. Stickle, all of Volant; three sisters, Marie Wiley of New Castle, Ida Rogan of Madisonville, KY, and Lucille Freed of West Pittsburg, five grandchildren, Britney (Jason) Hufnagel, Courtney Stickle, Mia Moyer, Kyle Moyer and Sheree Moyer; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Hufnagel. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Shellenberger and Gladys Murinscak. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Laura Puleo.
