Erwin A. Pollman, 85, of New Castle, PA, passed away November 29, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born October 20, 1927, in Freeman, SD, he was a son of Andrew A. and Margaret Hofer Pollman. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy McCoy, who he married on June 10, 1949.Erwin held four degrees from several different schools and seminaries. He not only attended Faith Country Chapel, but also was the pastor of visitation at the church and had pastored at several other churches previously. Erwin also was a professor, teaching at several Bible colleges over the years. In addition to the enjoyment he received in preaching and teaching the Gospel, he loved the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Janet L. Pollman of New Castle; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary L. and Nancy Pollman of New Castle, and Dr. Mark K. and Cindie Pollman of Slippery Rock, PA; and four grandchildren, Andrew (Elsbeth) Pollman, James Pollman, Tyler Pollman and Logan Pollman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Pollman.Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, and also Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Faith Country Chapel. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Stephen Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
