Esther O. D'Aurio, age 88, of New Castle, passed away the morning of September 16, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born January 20, 1936, in Fairview, PA, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Esther (Cumberland) Miller.

A graduate of Fairview Township Karns City High School, Esther worked as an inspector for Glass Containers Corp. in Parker, PA.

Among her varied interests, she enjoyed dancing and listening to The Dorals. She attended Christ United Church, formerly Eastbrook Presbyterian Church.

Esther is survived by her husband, John Lee D'Aurio, Jr. of New Castle; one son, Rick Thompson of Bruin, PA; step-children, Beth Ann (Jeff) Knight of New Castle, Jessica (Ryan) Wilcox of Butler and John (Christine) D'Aurio of New Castle; two sisters, Gloria Sweeney of Petrolia, PA and DeDe King of Parker, PA; 5 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 10 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation Friday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jason Schepp officiating.
