Ethel Marie Hinton, 84, formerly of Spring Hill Lane, New Castle, passed away May 18, 2014 at Trinity Living Center, Grove City, PA.Born May 24, 1929 in Butler, she was a daughter of John A. and Rose Beers Schehl.She was preceded in death on January 23, 2011 by her husband of 61 years, Robert Norman Hinton, whom she married February 24, 1949.Ethel was a graduate of Butler High School and was a card representative with American Greeting for 10 years.Among her interests were reading, sewing, and playing the lottery.She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church.Survivors include her three daughters, Barbara (Thomas) Kirkwood of New Castle, Kathie (Mike) Potemra of Ellwood City,and Lyn Ann Hinton of Knoxville, TN; two sons, Robert John (Lena) Hinton of Yulee, Fla, and Kenneth (Susan) Hinton of Mercer, PA; two sisters, Clara Marie Hurley of Lady Lake Fla, and Diane Sybert of Tacoma, Wash; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, George, Herb, and Raymond Schehl; and 2 sisters, Joan Hertz, and Sister Mary Vincent Schehl.Visitation will be held for one hour on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 for St. Joseph the Worker Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of American at www.alzfdn.org
