Ethel C. Johnston, 101, of Jameson Care Center, formerly of Cambridge St., New Castle, went to join her Heavenly Father on Feb. 8, 2010.Born Aug. 8, 1908, in Pulaski, she was the daughter of John Henry and Ida Mae Banks Huff.She married Robert C. Johnston on July 21, 1925. He preceded her in death on Jan. 4, 1978.Ethel attended Cotton School in Pulaski. She was homemaker, enjoyed bingo, and was a gracious caregiver to her family.Survivors include a daughter, Betty G. Shaffer of New Castle; a brother, Samuel Huff of New Wilmington; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Doris Houk; three sisters, Vera Foreman, Helen Singer, and Francis Wasson; three brothers, Gilbert Huff, Clarence Huff, and John Huff and a grandson, Robert Fuqua.Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at the funeral home. The Rev.
