Eugene D. "Bus" Roberts, 88, of New Castle, passed away the night of July 19, 2016 at Jameson Care Center. Born March 21, 1928 in New Castle, he was the son of Eugene L. and O. Lauretta Adams Roberts. Surviving at home is his loving wife of 68 years, Mildred G. "Dolly" Miles Roberts, whom he married on June 21, 1948. After attending New Castle High School, Eugene started into the plumbing business. He owned and operated R & H Plumbing in New Castle from 1954 until his retirement in 2004. Among his many interests, Bus enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and travel. What he loved most was spending time with his family. He was a member of Faith Country Chapel. In addition to his wife Dolly, he is survived by one daughter, Janice (Robert) Matis of New Castle; two sons, Ken (Sol) Roberts of Laguna Beach, California, and Donald Roberts of New Castle; one brother, James R. Roberts of New Castle; one sister, Leah Magee of New Castle; three grandchildren, Kelly Childers, Kerryann Sanocki, and Marissa Roberts; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Thomas D. Roberts. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Stephen Miller and Rev.
