Obituary

Eva "Susie" Harding Adamczyk, 91, of New Castle, passed away May 27, 2015 at St. John XXIII Home in Hermitage, PA. Susie was born on September 2, 1923 in Uelzen, Germany. She was the daughter of Erich and Elizabeth Pulkowsky Wilda. Susie was preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Harding in 1976 and two brothers: Klaus and Hans Wilda, who both died during WWII. She was a small child when Hitler passed through her small town. She is survived by Theodore Adamczyk, her second husband, and two sons; Kenneth (Lynn) Harding and Roy (Cheryl) Harding. She is also survived by two step sons, Michael Adamczyk and Thomas Adamczyk; three step-daughters, Judith Pierog, Lorraine Calabrese, and Jeanne Rhode. She is survived by three grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren. Susie was an office clerk at Shenango Elementary School for about 30 years. After retirement, Susie and Ted enjoyed many winters in their cabin in Sinnamahoning, PA, where they fed the birds and up to over forty deer, some of which they named. Her past-times included knitting and crocheting afghans, baby clothes and wall hangings. She was also an avid reader. She and Ted enjoyed solving puzzles together. They were part of a fiddlers group and enjoyed many gatherings near Coudersport, PA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 1-3 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. A blessing service will take place Saturday immediately following visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Deacon John Carran will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
