Obituary

Eva B. Quint, 85, of Murrieta, California and New Castle, PA, passed away the afternoon of May 7, 2012 at the Greer House.Born September 22, 1926 in Denmark, she was a daughter of Kai and Anna Gudren Frantzen. She married John C. Quint, Sr. on June 24, 1950 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2004.Eva was a translator during WWII, speaking five languages. Also during that time she ran messages for the Danish underground.Eva worked briefly as a secretary, but spent most of her life as a homemaker.She loved knitting and embroidery and was an avid and excellent gardner. She also enjoyed cooking and reading.Eva attended the Grace Lutheran Church in Anaheim, Calif.She is survived by her daughter, Helen and David Hubka of New Castle; a son, John C. and Carolyn Quint, Jr. of Murrieta, CA; a sister, Mette Tolstrup of Denmark; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Hubka and Rachel Anna Hubka of San Diego, CA.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ole Herstad.Visitation will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Amanda Goin will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.Memorial contributions may be made to Lawrence County Humane Society, P.O.
