Evelyn Inez Boston went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 21, 2020 at the Altercare Nursing Facility, Hartville, Ohio. Evelyn was born to Rev. Raymond and Hilda (Hopper) Fredericks on July 13, 1923 in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Shenango High School and she married William B. Boston on February 10, 1943. She worked as a secretary for the Conn Welding Co. for a few years and then later for the Unemployment Office in New Castle. She loved her church family and for many years was active in the children's ministry at Calvary Independent Church. Later, because of her great compassion for special needs children and adults, she helped start the Sonshine Class at First Baptist Church of New Castle where she taught and volunteered for over 30 years. For 40 years she also was a board member of P.A.R.C. of Lawrence County, an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of handicapped individuals. However, her greatest joy in life was being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and was always willing to pray with you and share her faith. She was also a great supporter of missionaries and Christian organizations. She had a servant's heart and was a good friend and neighbor to everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years; her parents; 5 brothers, Raymond, Paul, Merle, Donald and Bob Fredericks; a sister Pauline Crans; and an infant great grandchild. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Janet and Darrell Mooney of Kent, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law William and Patty (Razzano) Boston of Murrells Inlet, SC; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 Monday, October 26 and Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A private service will take place at 11:00 Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Yergan of First Baptist officiating. Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
