Evelyn M. Wilson, 87, of Slippery Rock Township, passed away the morning of October 13, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born December 2, 1931 in New Castle, she was the daughter of John and Lyda (Myers) Gibson. Evelyn was preceded in death on June 24, 2018 by her husband of 67 years, Earl L. Wilson, whom she married May 24, 1951. A homemaker, Evelyn enjoyed quilting, cooking and baking, but most important to her was spending time with her family. A member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Portersville, she was the churches longest attending member. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Wayne Pizor of Portersville, PA; two grandchildren, Timothy (Brandy) Pizor and Diana (John) Caffro; and two great-granddaughters, Shelby and Sophie Caffro. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Judith Wilson officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
