Obituary

Felix "Phil" Kitzko, Jr., 76, of New Castle, passed away the evening of December 17, 2020 at his residence. Born March 14, 1944 in New Castle, he was the son of Felix Kitzko, Sr. and Mary (Chaback) Kitzko. He was preceded in death on March 27, 2009 by his wife of 43 years, Darlene (Lawson) Kitzko, whom he married August 7, 1965. Phil was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam war in Germany. He was employed with maintenance at Sawhill Tubular in Sharon, PA until his retirement. Phil was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, but enjoyed all sports. He often met with friends for coffee at McDonalds and loved to frequent flea markets. He attended First Assembly of God. He is survived by one daughter, Shannon (William) Ettinger, Jr. of New Castle; three sons, Phillip Kitzko of Hawaii, Richard Kitzko and Nicholas Kitzko both of New Castle; one brother, Daniel F. Kitzko of Wampum; one sister, Ann Pendice of New Castle; and four grandchildren, Ashley Kitzko, Justin, Shayla and Ciara Ettinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and six brothers, Steve, Andy, Mike, John, George and Simon Kitzko. Due to the unfortunate Covid health crisis, services will be held privately for the family with Pastor Bill Whisel officiating. Military funeral honors will be performed. Mr. Kitzko will be laid to rest beside his wife in Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the R.
