Florence E. Burk, 65, of New Castle, passed away August 21, 2013 at her residence. Born August 5, 1948, in Butler, PA, she was a daughter of Howard D. Claypoole, Jr. and Elizabeth Finley Claypoole. Florence is survived by her husband Thomas Burk who resides at home. She attended Moniteau High School in Butler and Mohawk High School. Florence was a housekeeper with Microtel and a caretaker for the mentally challenged. She enjoyed frequenting flea markets and casinos, and playing Bingo. Florence attended Harmony Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Joann and Wade Bissett, Jean and William Anderson and Dawn and Joseph Rendes, all of New Castle; two sons and their wives, Dennis J. Burk Sr. and wife Brenda, and Shawn Burk and wife Lynda, all of New Castle; one brother, Ronald D. Claypoole, Sr. of New Castle; two sisters, Myrtle Callen and Jean Keidel both of New Castle; 15 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother; one sister, Bessie Stoner; and three nephews, Bruce Callen, Robert Stoner, and Daniel Everly. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. James Hockenberry. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
