Florence W. Duvall, 96, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 9, 2010 in Avalon Nursing Center.Born September 17, 1914 in Charleroi, PA, she was a daughter of James and Mary Bruce Wilson. She married Shelby K. Duvall on March 3, 1948. He survives in New Castle. Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.In addition to her husband, Florence is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Ralph Shaffer; a granddaughter and husband, Leslie and Tom Nigon; a great granddaughter, Abby Nigon; and a great grandson, Max Nigon, all of New Castle.She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathryn Smith.Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will take place Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Edward Bailey will officiate.
