Florence A. Lutz, 89, passed away the evening of January 8, 2018, at her residence. Born on May 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Susan Frank Quint. She is survived at home by her husband of 42 years, Duane "Dewey" Lutz. Mrs. Lutz was a New Castle High School graduate, where she became their first homecoming queen. She graduated in the class of 1946. She worked as a secretary for Attorney Sherman Levine, was an operator at Bell Telephone Company, was a jewelry department manager at both Hills Department Store and Treasure Island Department Store. She was also a worked at Home Health Care, was a bus monitor and was a cashier for Giant Eagle. Among her favorite activities, spending time with her family was what she treasured most. She was also a member of First Baptist Church. Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Judith (Daniel) Martwinski of New Castle, Arleen Crisci of Largo FL, one step-daughter Kathy (Frank) Costa; three sons, Richard Panella of Boca Raton, FL, David (Karen) Panella, of New Castle, Martin Panella, of New Castle, daughter-in-law, Brenda Panella of New Castle; one step son, Gary (Mary Lou) Lutz of New Castle; one sister-in -law, Juanita Quint of San Jose, CA; 9 Grandchildren, 5 Step Grandchildren and 6 Great Granchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother, John Quint, one sister, Anna Barletto and one son, Anthony Panella. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11th, from 4-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa. 16105, and Friday, January 12th, from 10-11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle, Pa. 16105. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, at First Baptist Church, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. John Yergan officiating. Burial will be at Castle View Memorial Gardens.
