Florence Louise White, 93, of Union Township, passed away the morning of February 24, 2019 at Jameson Care Center. Born January 18, 1926 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Albert E. and Clara (Williams) Scriven. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. White; son Daniel E. White and sister, Clara Zeigler. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Doyle (Bernie Hollkamp) of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister, Alberta I. (Robert) Glass of New Castle; niece, Linda (Michael) Hall of New Castle; nephews, Merle (Millie) Glass and Brian (Carmie) Glass of New Castle; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Florence was a graduate of New Castle High School and Jameson School of Nursing. She was a nurse with Dr. Samuel Perry until becoming employed with Jameson Memorial Hospital where she became an operating room nurse until her retirement. She was a member of the Jameson-Shenango Alumni. Florence was a lifetime member of Shenango Christian Church where she served as a clerk for 50 plus years. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 2, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place following visitation on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Erwin of Shenango Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shenango Christian Church, 2404 Willowhurst Circle, New Castle, PA 16101.
