Frances M. Alexander, 90, formerly of Wampum, passed away the afternoon of May 15, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born February 14, 1925 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Joseph H. and Stella Zielinski Mann. She was preceded in death on September 7, 2011 by her husband of 64 years, Carl R. Alexander, whom she married on August 2, 1947. A graduate of New Castle High School in January, 1943, she was employed briefly with Bell Telephone as an operator. Most of her life she was a homemaker, taking care of her husband and her children. A member of Clinton Methodist Church in Wampum, she taught Sunday school for 15 years. Frances enjoyed visits with her many friends. She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Gary) Kelley of New Castle; one son, Ray Scott (Ginnie) Alexander of New Castle; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband Carl, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Mann. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A service will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Wayne Cleary officiating.
