Frances E. Jenista, 91, formerly of Hunters Woods, New Castle, passed away the night of November 10, 2015 at Jameson Care Center. Born February 1, 1924 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota , she was the daughter of James and Rosella Chase Egan. . She was preceded in death on March 26, 2006 by her husband, John S. Jenista, whom she married August 13, 1942. Frances was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. A member of Christ Lutheran Church, Frances was active in the Ladies Aide Society and various Bible study groups in the community. Frances is survived by one daughter, Rochelle (Lewis) Ayers of Port Charlotte, FL; three sons, John (Sandy) Jenista of Berlin, PA, David Jenista of Saxton,PA, and Jeffrey Jenista of New Castle; 11 grandchildren, Steven Ayers of Littleton, CO, Elizabeth Jones of Sherrill, NY, John Jenista of Japan, Renee Brenner of Saginaw, MI, Julia Ross of Berlin, PA, Jennifer Halliwell of North Hampton, NH, Jeremiah Jenista of Littleton, CO, Jessica Snyder of Wexford, PA, Rachel Jenista of Pittsburgh, PA, Jason Jenista of New Castle, and Justin Jenista of New Castle; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her sister-in-law, Lee Jenista; four nieces and four nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Egan and 2 brothers James and Bernard Egan. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 1302 E. Washington Street. A funeral service will be take place immediately following visitation at 12:00 noon at the church with the Rev. Sean Walters officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
