Frank M. Houk, 84, of New Castle, passed away the morning of August 10, 2013 in the Ellwood City Hospital. Born June 25, 1929, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Horace Hall Houk and Edna Moore Houk. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Frank is survived by his wife, Shirley Brooks Houk, whom he married August 17, 1950.Survivors include a brother, Jim Houk and his wife Kaye of Ellwood City; two sons, Gary Houk of New Castle and Frank R. Houk and his wife Robin of Fombell; two daughters, Lynne Anne Mumford and her husband Larry of Corinth, TX and Carole Russell and her husband Gary of Flower Mound, TX. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Larry Mumford and his wife Christina, Jason Mumford and his wife Rachel, Alyssa Houk, and Ryan Russell; and three great-grandchildren, Claire, Colton and Paige Mumford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Agnes Day, of Butler. Frank was a former employee of Mesta Machine Co. and owner of Houk TV and Appliance in New Castle, PA for many years. Private services were held today, August 14, 2013.Burial was in Slippery Rock Church Cemetery. Visitation and funeral arrangements were handled by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
